Rendena Research is a lifetime personal research project of James Caola, 2nd generation descendant of the Val Rendena (valley) in Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy.
What makes research this unique?
Today, ancestral research data is found in many places such as Ancestry.com. What makes this research different is that it is interlinked and checked amongst the following 3 datasets:

Database 1 is derived records preserved by the parishes of the valley from as early as 1507 through 1923. Database 2 are reconstructed genealogical lineages for individual families. Database 3 is an historical visual database documenting the cemeteries of the valley as they exist today, including the anagraphical data abstracted from them.
The relative stability of the population over centuries and the number and quality of extant records for all classes of people living in the valley provides a unique opportunity for researchers with a variety of interests to examine the evolution of a people over centuries.
