About Jim

Jim Caola is a 2nd generation descendant of the valley and lives in Philadelphia. He began this project in 1998:

"The seeds of this project were planted in 1998 following the deaths of my aunts. Its initial growth was slow, motivated by interest in my personal roots in the Valley. As that research expanded I realized the depth and complexity of those roots and was struck by the rich sources available for exploration.

I realized very quickly how difficult it is to access those sources for most people, which only increased my interest in expanding my research beyond the purely personal. In the intervening 12 years, I have been carefully translating, abstracting and indexing data from thousands of pages of records."

He is also the main driver behind the MyFamily.com site "Children of Pinzolo". This project has been funded exclusively by Jim since 1998. If you would like to make a contribution to the research, please contact us.
